So, I picked up a new lens yesterday :) Super excited to use it, I walked out on my back deck this morning to see what I could find. I was expecting to take a few pictures of leaves or something, just to test out my new zoom. (300mm!) But this lovely little red gem up in the trees immediately caught my eye. A Northern Cardinal, out for breakfast.
Looks like he found a tasty little grub!

Day-um! Those are terrific! Nicely done. I love watching Cardinals, even if they are kinda nutty birds.
My parents used to get males that would peck at their own reflection in the windows until they bled.
