New Logo!

I think it's the curse of the graphic designer to never be satisfied with one's own logo. I have about twenty options I've designed, each with about 10 font and color alternates! I love them all, but I finally narrowed it down to 9 of my favorites today, and then the final one... and this is it!


New logo means the last logo and blog header will be retired, but it'll remain here. :)



New logo also means a page layout change, since the black background wasn't working anymore! Helllooo, white!

Meet Noah

I had the pleasure of shooting Noah's 6-month session yesterday. He was so much fun to work with, we had a blast! Mom Lindsay & Dad Andy were a big help in getting those smiles too! These are some of my favorites from the basket session - we had fun with a few different themes. In fact, if you visited yesterday, you already got a sneak preview of Noah in his "Baby's First Christmas" session - he's the adorable star of the Christmas cards below!

Christmas Card Samples!

Here are three Christmas card samples. If you would like me to make cards for you, you can use one of these templates, or I can design something new for you to coordinate with your photo! You can use a photo you have taken, a photo from another photographer with permission, or I can take your photo! But call me (616.719.6220) right away, I fly home to MN on Friday!



They are a little bigger than 5 x 7, and come with A8 envelopes.

New Studio Setup!

Guess what I got today! Studio lighting! And a backdrop! And a new lens! Too excited to wait for people to shoot... Hmmm... need a guinea pig... of course! Lexilicious! And Jamie!

Icy Morning

We got a little more snow last evening, mixed with ice and rain. I awoke in the middle of the night to the sound of ice pelting the windows and covering the layer of ice and snow already on the ground. This morning when I got outside, the ice had already started to melt and drip from the trees, falling rhythmically to the leaves below.

First Snow

First weekend of December, and we've finally gotten our first snow. It started on Thursday, it was absolutely beautiful. I'm lucky to have a big window in my office, so I watched it fall and swirl on the ground all afternoon. It ended up being just a light dusting, barely covering the grass.

End of Season

These photos were taken in South Central Minnesota, while home for Thanksgiving. Jamie grew up here, among the low rolling hills where corn and alfalfa grow. It was a very cold, cloudy, windy day. I only got a couple shots in before my hands froze and I lost feeling to my fingers...




Rachel grew up here too; the tree above is where she played as a child, before the field was flooded.

My desktop wallpaper image had been there way too long, it was time for something festive, so I whipped up this red snowflake image. Might as well do a couple colors :) Enjoy!

Westbury White Horse

This was one of Chris's favorite photos, but it just didn't do the Westbury White Horse justice due to a dreary day. After some cleanup, the Old Grey Mare is looking pretty good for a 300-year old, and back to her beautiful gleaming white.

A Perfect Fall Day

It was a beautiful day today - I just couldn't stay inside! Lexi and I went out and spent a few hours just wandering around in the woods behind our house. Most of the leaves have turned now, but you'll see I even found some green trees... on November 2nd! We saw a few deer too, but they were too quick for me...
